ANTOX 73 E

Pickling gel for alloyed stainless steels
Scope of application
Removing weld scales and temper colours, old disturbed passive layers, carbon steel deposits, oxides of other materials, and marks caused by handling and damage caused by heat and mechanical treatment of surfaces as well as welds. The result is an even appearance of the surface. Intended for low-alloy materials.
Application
Read safety instructions before use. Stir Antox 73 until homogeneous. Apply using a spray bottle or spraying device, creating a consistent-thickness layer over welds and surfaces. Depending on the type of steel, the weld type and ambient temperature, allow to act for 60–90 minutes. Rinse with min. 12 MPa pressure water. Keep rinsing until the pickled surface and rinse water are pH neutral. If the pickled surface is not completely clean, repeat the entire process. Sometimes it is better to pickle only the welds first before pickling the entire area.
Waste water disposal
Since rinse waste water is acidic and contains heavy metals, it must be collected. The collected rinse water must be disposed of ecologically. Either use own waste water treatment plant (consult the plant operator) or engage a specialized company to dispose of it.
Caution
Antox 73 E contains nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The product label contains instructions to be adhered to. Further information is in a safety data list and is available on demand. Persons must wear a face mask with acid vapour filters, protective suit and gloves.
Coverage rate
1 kg of Antox 73 E can treat 3–6 m² of area.
Packaging
Antox 73 E is shipped in 10, 20 and 200 kg packages.
