Antox 80 E
Scope of application
Removing weld scales and temper colours, old disturbed passive layers, carbon steel deposits, oxides of other materials, and marks caused by handling and damage caused by heat and mechanical treatment of surfaces as well as welds in one operation – dipping in a bath. The result is an even appearance of the surface.
Read safety instructions before use. Prepare a pickling bath in a suitable container (e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon). Dilute Antox 80E to a ratio of 1:1 with water and stir until fully homogeneous. Dip the parts to be pickled in the bath. It is advisable to establish the required length of treatment time by trial. It depends on the amount of scale and the degree of bath depletion. Then rinse with min. 12 MPa pressure water, or dip in a water bath. Keep rinsing until the pickled surface and rinse water are pH neutral.
Since rinse waste water is acidic and contains heavy metals, it must be collected. The collected rinse water must be disposed of ecologically. Either use own waste water treatment plant (consult the plant operator) or engage a specialized company to dispose of it.
Antox 80 E contains nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The product label contains instructions to be adhered to. Further information is in a safety data list and is available on demand. Persons must wear a face mask with acid vapour filters, protective suit and gloves.
It depends on the length of treatment time, type and amount of contaminants, chemical composition of the material to be pickled.
Antox 80 E is shipped in 20 and 1000 kg packages.
